Dear Depression

You’ve taken friends and family. You came to me when I was a child and hollowed out my soul. I’ve lost most of my years to you, and almost my life. You still have many of my loved ones lost in your fog.

You tell us lies and lock us in darkness. But I’ve realized that as long as we have each other there is a light. I can see the light now.

You still are present in my life, but you no longer hold power over me. I will try to show others the light, and your power will be gone.
